I’m not sure if it was in Spain or in Italy, but my first experience with pasta carbonara was in South Europe when my mom ate it in a restaurant. After that I have made it myself countless times. It’s real comfort food. So of course I had to eat this classic in Italy too.
I had had a horrible start for my trip: an Italian hotel owner and I yelled at each others because nothing worked, I had to change the hotel 3 times and I ended up walking on the streets with my luggage having no idea where I was. Well, the trip turned to be amazing, but after this kind of start I really needed something comforting. So what could have been better than creamy pasta with bacon, eggs and parmesan cheese?
